hey folks - i actually finished this one a few weeks ago but didn't get to posting with the computer replacement (new one = suhWEET, speedy techno-dream with vast tracks of memory/storage... but i digress).
great, great book. go and read this. i found a signed 1st ed. on ebay and though i could pick it up for a steal at $25... bunch of bastards pushed it up to $175 on the last day. dang!
anyway, the text is a very dry but cutting portrait of american consumer culture's influence on identity and perspective. i've moved on to delillo's 'mao II' and will let you know how it compares.
